Plenty! If the weather is nice I would suggest parking near Boreal at Donner Pass, crossing under the highway and hiking back up to Castle Peak (that big ominous looking one) there are many people and signs along the way.
Another one of my favorites that is easily accessable is off of highway 267 just a few miles past Northstar ski resort is Brockway Pass, there are several Forest Service roads there plus the Taqhoe Rim Trail also runs along the ridge. Once again there are many people to ask for directions should you get turned around, if you hike all the way up to Marta's Peak Fire Lookout the view is most impressive!
