Hi,
New here... and new to backpacking.
I'm taking the kids (7 and 10) to Cathedral Lakes in mid early July. I was in the valley at the same time last year and it was very hot... few mosquitos. I'm wondering if any has experience at the higher elevations?
thanks,
P

Re: July Temps
Mon, February 19, 2007 - 8:54 AMI have been looking on the laptop here – I had a link to realtime weather conditions but of course cant find it now… here is a link to the snowpack levels through the CA water resources dept so at least you can watch that disappear. But really by the time you are going I think the weather conditions will be pretty favorable. I hiked into Glen Aulin a couple years ago in July and other than one afternoon shower the weather was pefect. Anywhere near a lake you have a good chance of having mosquito's mainly in the evening so take bug dope.
