day hikes in kings canyon

looks like we're going to kings canyon next weekend. anyone have any favorite day hikes there? i'm thinking 8 miles or less, and i especially love places that have lots of rocks to scramble and play on.

    Oh yeah ....
    I found that the trails in K.C. were much better maintained than the wildernesses surrounding that I hiked through...
    Inyo's trails were terrible...
    I had heard from a couple of rangers that the last time trails were maintained to the top of Whitney... was 1930...
    the National park trails are much better...

    Cedar Grove is a nice car camping site but the really good stuff is beyond "roads end"...
    I liked Guitar lake.

      They keep cutting the budgets of the national forestry service.

      Much of the the trailwork that is done in the wildernesses is done by teams from volunteer organizations.
